Dear Pastor and Terrific Prayer Warriors,
Greetings once again from soggy Panama. While many of you enjoy your summer weather, winter has arrived with its torrential rains once again. We have had more rainy Sundays than either of us can remember in many years.
In spite of the rains, though, God has blessed with souls saved and the attendance growing steadily. With part of the loan from the office, we have been able to repair part of church’s roof. The patio area was more like Swiss cheese than a roof against the rain. There is still much to do, some of which has been halted until we get the title transferred to our name. Our lawyer told me just a few days ago that there was one small glitch holding up everything. Pray with us that the former owner will help us with this and soon.
On July 14 we will begin one of our toughest evangelistic medical clinics to date. We are scheduled to go into to Bocas del Toro, a difficult access area. It will be one of the most primitive settings yet. The clinic will be more mobile than in years past, as we will be changing locations about every day. The possibility is for there to be an average of five hundred patients a day. The goal of reaching many souls for Christ remains the primary focus. We are acutely aware that we are invading an area held captive by the powers of darkness.
Pray with us that many hearts will be opened to the truth of the Gospel. There are always extra costs involved with this and this year the transportation to and from is one of the biggest. Would you consider a special offering to help cover these expenses?
There remains just over $20,000 to pay off the loan on the purchase of the property in Veracruz. We are so thankful for those that have had a part. We pray that all of our churches will have a part in helping us retire this loan and help save the Lord’s money.
In this report we have a personal prayer request. Cricket has been having several digestive type problems since her gall bladder surgery. We have recently found out that she has an acutely herniated hiatus (the floppy door between the stomach and the esophagus.) She may need surgery in order to repair it. Please keep this in your prayers as we seek the Lord’s guidance.
Thank you for your generous monthly support and faithful prayers. May God bless you richly over the summer months.
Your missionaries,
Dan & Cricket Young
